This is a brief explanation of how to set up your email accounts when they have been configured by the email account manager. First the core details are given in a generic format, then a step by step description is presented for different email programs.

The email address will be have the server name mcgloughlin.name, therefore your unique email mailbox will have your first name, or something representing that name if your first name is not available. for example
'tom@mcgloughlin.name' would be Tom McGloughlin's email address.

Email programs must log on to an email server program on the internet, to do this logging-on process the email program in your computer must supply a username and a password to this email server. For your email account, your user name is the same as your email address, so in the above example, the user name for Tom McGloughlin would be 'tom@mcgloughln.name'.

The final part of the credentials needed by the email server program is your secret password, this will be assigned to you by the email account manager. You should specify a password to the account manager before the account is created, or if you want it changed simply email a request with the new password to have it changed. Please allow 24 hours for the change to occur, or if it is more urgent than that call the account manager directly.

When setting up your email software you need to specify the email server name.  This is the unique name that the internet system can use to direct any requests that you have to get email, or to send it.  The name of your email server is 'mail.mcgloughlin.name' .
